President Tim was conspicuously absent today.  However, Santa, arriving late, managed our meeting.  While Santa is a well known member of ImageRotary, a badge or pin was noticeably absent on his suit.  He was also absent the Rotary bell, but continuously jingled his belt of bells.  The pledge was let by Don Daniels and Rich Keene gave us the thought for the day.  Santa presented Rod Fivelstad with his 10 year pin and a HOHOHO.  Santa exchanged Michelle Belmonte’s red badge for a permanent blue badge and then volunteered Pres Tim to pay her fine … and a HOHOHO.  As he was full of the Christmas spirit (or something) he also thanked Kathy Egenes for her great work on the news bulletin and, yet again, a HOHOHO.

In other news … Don Daniels announced the Public Image committee of Division 5190 is considering a focus on the west slope.  Any idea for promoting Rotary is welcomed.  The better half of the Daniels Clan – Anita, publicized the sign-up for the Casino Night, silent auction donation teams.  Be proactive in this fund-raiser or risk a fine.  Don Sheppard heralded the success of Rotary in bell ringing - $456.96 and a collection for hurricane Sandy $2654.00.  Remember we are dark on Dec 24th and 31st.  And in sadder news Al Alstrand resigned after a successful 38 years as a Rotarian. Santa was only able to pull one fine from his sack.  Wyn Spiller (and later Steve) confessed to a trip to New York City, with all the family, to celebrate her Mom’s 90th birthday.  GO MOM!!!  She enjoyed a Christmas Carol serenade at the 5th Ave Presbyterian Church.

Finally SaImagenta introduced our program for the day, a Christmas Carol-fest by the Lyman Gilmore choir.  Their final piece – Let There Be Peace on Earth, was enhanced by several Rotarians.

And really finally, Santa forgot to introduce guests – Justin Sternberg, Nevada City born, guest of Wyn.  He is joining Hospitality House.  Dan Horton was our greeter.  Our Hostess Diane was presented with her annual tip, which was greatly appreciated and immediately put to good use.  Lee Osnas drew the white marble.Image
